That is not like the set up of the cat so the cradle would not work for you

Hi Rikko

I have some of these cradles available

I had these made when Southways were trying to get rid of the Cat and it seemed they would no longer have them available.

I thought I was helping Cat owners with this, but have faced some criticism for doing this.

As it seems that Southways have failed in their efforts to find anyone to take the Cat on, I understand they are continuing to support it, so may have these cradles available again, and if so they deserve our support.

So I suggest that Southways should be  contacted first. If they still don't have them available then I will be happy to supply.

I will shortly be converting my own car and will do a full write up for this forum. Watch this space.

Hi All,
I have a Southways Supercat (2010) Graeme and Duncun (Chester Sports Cars [biggrin])  helped with the orginal build.  Now it is time for some updates including the steering rack.  this still has the old cortina rack, ideally a swap to the quick rack would be great but if it is not available any more thats not an option.  So folks this cradle for the escort rack is it good?  is it still available form anyone??

I will also be looking at swapping my old silvertop (making some horrid noises) to a nice shiney blacktop at the same time.   so happy days.

Whilst not wishing to tread on anyone's toes or hi-jack a thread, I have been in touch with Richard at Southways re. supplying a quick rack cradle for the Cat. He would be prepared to run a batch of 10 @ £99.99 each inc. delivery.

Obvious question - is there a sufficient number of interested Cat owners out there?

Michael.

Looks as though we are well shy of the required number for Richard to produce a batch so if there are no more takers I'll thank him for the offer and spend my budget on food, new glasses, gas/electric final demands or some other non-essential.

Michael.

Just had a thought on this. Would it be worth asking Richard if he'd be prepared to release the design drawings for a smaller fee? We could then try to find a small engineering shop that might be prepared to do a smaller run.

What about Mike26950.

He posted that he had made cradles to do the same job.
From his post above it looked as though he was going to upgrade his Cat and take pictures on how it was done.

Has this been completed and are any cradles available ....
