Hi All

Fairly new to the world of Tigers and this Forum. Purchased ( through here ) a Cat E1 running a 2L Pinto last month. Car is in great condition and all seems to be fine. Only taken it for a few short 20/30 mins runs at present.

The Water Temp seems to be at around 80 constant and the oil pressure seems to be about the same (80). Only on Friday I took it for a spin and the pressure gauge dropped to about 30 but the car seemed fine and ran ok home. No    issues when home and running at 80 again today. Could this just be a sticking gauge ?

Also what Grade oil should I use when changing?

Thanks in advance ( hopefully may meet a few of you in the EATOC runs later in year).

Hi Richard,

As has been mentioned previously, instruments can be affected by poor earthing (no pun intended re. your surname!). It may be worthwhile checking/cleaning earth connections - not least of all block/bell housing to chassis.

My Pinto runs happily on 20/50 - either Halfords Classic or Valvoline VR1.

Michael.
