Hi all, help required if anybody has done this as the bell housing on the type 9 gearbox has starter motor mounts on lower left and engine has it higher right.
Has anybody modified the alloy sump to allow the starter motor to fit.
photos would be appreciated.

The ST170 block is exactly the same as the black top Zetec.

Therefore, all fitting instructions for that will be the same, the only difference from a fitment perspective is the inlet side of the engine and the VVT control.

See my site as https://www.zetec-cat.co.uk/ for more information.

See the "Modifications" links for details on the sump chop and black top installation,

Hi Paul

thanks for the reply, I had read your site and love the detail on sump modifications but could not find any information or photos on the starter motor fitment

thanks

The sump pictures show the webbing we cut off on the side of the ally section.  It then bolts to the original pinto type-9 bellhousing.
