hello ! New to this forum and maybe soon a proud owner of my first tiger cat XL
Why a cat XL ? Easy , i live in Belgium and the kitcars that are registerd and good to drive in Belgium are not easy to find . The paperwork is crazy and not many kitcars are road legal , build after 2010
So find one , very nice build , but a Cat XL
The cat XL is not longer in production a heard , so my questions
Are parts still available
How does a cat XL handles on a track , due to the Sierra suspension geometrie
It has a 2.0 Zetec , any good performance upgrades , for now fairly stock

Thanks in advance

Walter

Hi, bodywork is available from southways sports cars. Other sierra based parts are generally avail.

I've also got an xl. Best change I made was installing jk composite seats

Hi walter,

Nice to see another person from belgium.

What area are you from? I am in bruges.

I can confirm the legal and paperwork annoyance.

I cannot comment on the track handling, as i use my cat purely for road use and have been optimising the setup for that.

Good luck if you buy the car.

Hello Guys,

i have recently purchased a Tiger Cat XL around Antwerp. I am loving it so far.

General question: does anyone in belgium have any experience with the use of a sticker as license plate on the front of the car? Ive done some research, and asked 'mobiliteit', but it seems it is illegal, although tons of sportscar seem to be doing it anyways!

Hope to see you guys on the road soon!

Greets,

Phil

Hi Jannick,

I am strubbeling with CO which is too high at moments. Other moments, it is almost zero.
Ik have a 1,6l Zetec se with Webcon alpha control unit and throttle bodies. We already found that the voltage in the TPS differs with contact on and of. We cannot find the case and do not know if this is causing the CO fluctuations.
Anyone suggestions?
Geert

Sticker is illegal, haven't tried it. I have managed to fit the number plate under the nose cone, but it can flip inside when touching ground (aluminium brackets), but it never has.
Cannot post pictures as my car is in someone else's hands for repair.

Regarding handling, the Cat and Cat XL track and wheelbase and suspension front and rear are the same the XL just had a wider cockpit I believe, T he old tiger race series had a couple of standard Cat racing and according to reports went pretty well around the track. Can't comment my self as I have never seriously driven fast on a track.
Hope that helps.
Alec
