Hi,
Looking for some feedback on faceplate design for R1 carbs.
I have mesh cover at the moment. Going to add a plate to cover all carbs then add new mesh. Do I need to make a hole for bottom slots in the carbs. See image attached.

Hi Jim,

The mesh is going to stop stones getting into the carbs / engine but not finer dust.

It might be worth looking at fitting Pipercross socks they can be held in place using a ty-wrap.

Can anyone with bike carbs post a picture with the filter removed. Looking to see what the cutout in backplate looks like.

Perhaps try giving Piper Cross a call as they are showing a range of filters for Motorcycles or the socks:

Thanks Graeme,

See you left the gaps at the bottom of the carbs.
I'll make up one same as yours.

Cheers Jim

Thanks bud , I did change to the domed piper X filter and got it to fit the right way up ,so it bolts on at the top
now .  I used hot glue to seal up all the gaps .

The big gaps are for the air correction jets , you need them open and thats where the air jets are blocked off too .
